Job Title: Employee Ownership M&A Analyst
Department: Buyside M&A

The Employee Ownership M&A Analyst will support all phases of the acquisition process—from sourcing and direct outreach to potential targets, to analyzing CIMs, supporting valuation and financial modeling, coordinating due diligence, and contributing to integration planning. You will work closely with senior leadership, develop client-ready materials, and apply corporate finance, accounting, and ESOP structuring knowledge in live transactions. This role offers hands-on experience in real-time dealmaking, ownership transition strategies, and every phase of the acquisition process, with strong opportunities for learning, growth, and contribution to a mission-driven firm.
This position is based in our office in Nashville, TN or can be based remotely. While we value in-person collaboration, we believe high performers can thrive in flexible settings, and we welcome applicants who bring discipline, accountability, and strong communication skills to remote work. This position is full-time and salaried exempt. It is not eligible for overtime pay under applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following essential functions. Other related duties may be assigned as business needs evolve, consistent with applicable law.
- Sourcing & Outreach: Identify and engage acquisition targets for our buy-side clients through cold outreach, strategic research, and relationship-building.
- Financial Analysis: Apply corporate finance and valuation concepts to active transactions. Build working knowledge of ESOP structuring, deal structure, and the mechanics of ownership transfer.
- Client Communication: Prepare and present materials for client-facing meetings. Communicate clearly with founders, operators, and advisors throughout the deal process.
- Valuation & Analysis: Conduct valuation analyses using methods such as DCF, market comps, and asset-based approaches.
- Presentation Materials: Develop client-ready materials that communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Transaction Execution: Support the full lifecycle of M&A deals, from sourcing to closing, under the guidance of experienced advisors.
- Integration Support: Contribute to post-close integration planning, including readiness assessments, workstream coordination, and progress tracking.
- Time Management: Juggle multiple high-priority projects while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
- Constructive Feedback: Offer thoughtful input to improve internal operations and client strategies. We value candor and creativity.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant experience, including 1-2 years of deal experience
- Ability to support a deal process from initial screening of the opportunity to close of a transaction
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Familiarity with valuation, accounting, and financial modeling concepts
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine curiosity and a deep desire to understand business models and deal dynamics
- Familiarity with AI tools for sourcing, research, and market mapping, and a disposition to use them before being asked.
- High attention to detail, self-direction, and comfort with ambiguity
- Commitment to values of equity, ownership, and economic resilience
Required Education and/or Licenses
Education: An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an outstanding record of academic achievement.

Compensation
Target base salary is $80,000 to $100,000, depending on candidate’s experience. This range represents the Company’s good-faith estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. Compensation for this role includes base salary, an annual performance-based bonus opportunity, and eligibility for the Company’s standard retirement and healthcare benefits. As an ESOP company, full-time employees are also eligible to participate in the employee stock ownership plan, subject to applicable plan terms and vesting requirements.
